Kylie Minogue song - director wants catchy words!



“Jai Ho!” is already a rage in the West. “Chhaiya Chhaiya” caught the fancy of filmmakers like Spike Lee. Now, for the Kylie Minogue song composed by A R Rahman , the director of film ‘Blue’ wants something equally catchy.





The whole of India knows by now that Kylie is in India to shoot for a song and a few scenes for director Anthony D'Souza ’s film Blue . But according to some recent reports Kylie Minogue’s song is not yet ready.Even though the song has been recorded, D’Souza thinks something is lacking in it. He wants to make the song sound catchier in terms of lyrics.

Australian Pop diva Kylie Minogue arrives in India

Mumbai, February 27 (ANI): Australian pop sensation Kylie Minogue on Thursday arrived in Mumbai to record a song with Oscar winning music composer A.R Rahman for forthcoming Bollywood film 'Blue'. Catcalls and cheering crowd greeted Minogue as she landed in Mumbai. The film starring actors Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Zayed Khan, Katrina Kaif and Lara Dutta is touted to be India's first 'official' underwater film.

'Slumdog' strikes it rich with 8 Oscar wins


The film's eight trophies -- including best picture, direction, adapted screenplay and cinematography -- cement the reputation of Fox Searchlight as a champion of work that Hollywood won't risk.
"Slumdog Millionaire" -- a love story that combines artistic ambition with broad commercial appeal -- won a leading eight Oscars on Sunday night, including the best picture trophy.

While the film's triumphs at the 81st annual Academy Awards marked an amazing outcome for a movie filled with subtitles, scenes of torture and a Bollywood dance sequence, the wins also cemented the reputation of distributor Fox Searchlight, which has become Hollywood's top advocate of the kind of daring works that movie studios have all but abandoned

AR Rahman wins Oscars for music



Indian composer AR Rahman has won two Oscars for his work in Danny Boyle's Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire.

Rahman took one Oscar for the best score and another for his song Jai Ho from the film, a rags-to-riches tale set in the slums of Mumbai.
He praised Slumdog Millionaire's themes of hope and optimism.
Rahman is among five Indians to win an Oscar. Two other Indians, Gulzar and Resul Pookutty, picked up Oscars for original song and sound mixing.
Earlier Oscar winners from India were costume designer Bhanu Athaiya for her work in Gandhi in 1983 and director Satyajit Ray, who won a lifetime achievement award in 1992.
British director Danny Boyle has won best director for Slumdog Millionaire and the film also took best picture. Altogether, it netted eight awards.
